Why We Upgraded to Super MOXI

At Kairos, every technology decision begins with patient care. We chose to upgrade to Super MOXI® because its expanded treatment capabilities give us more ways to tailor an already trusted laser to the person in front of us.

MOXI has become one of the most recognized treatments in aesthetics. It helped make prejuvenation more approachable by giving patients a way to address early sun damage, uneven tone, and changes in skin quality with manageable recovery. Super MOXI keeps the familiar 1927 nm nonablative wavelength and adds a wider range of settings and delivery options.

For our patients, the upgrade means greater flexibility. We can design anything from a very light treatment with little or no social downtime to a more corrective treatment for the right candidate.

What Changed With Super MOXI

Super MOXI uses the same 1927 nm wavelength as the original MOXI. The new platform gives providers broader control over energy and density, a more powerful 16-watt diode, and High Density Delivery with twice the fractional beams per pass. Certain treatments can also be completed up to twice as fast, which makes larger areas of the face and body more practical to treat.

The most important improvement is the ability to customize treatment. We can adjust the protocol more precisely for your skin concern, treatment history, preferred recovery time, and overall care plan.

A Treatment Designed Around Your Skin

More power does not mean every patient should receive the strongest treatment. The right setting is the one that matches your skin and your goals.

One patient may want a light treatment focused on maintenance before an event. Another may need a more corrective approach and feel comfortable planning for several days of visible recovery. A third patient may benefit from combining Super MOXI with another technology.

We choose the treatment level after considering your skin, the condition we are treating, your previous treatments, your goals, your comfort with downtime, and your budget. Your provider will explain the clinical options and make the final plan with you.

What Super MOXI Can Treat

We may include Super MOXI in treatment plans for concerns such as

  • Uneven pigmentation and sun damage
  • Melasma-prone pigmentation
  • Uneven skin tone
  • Rough or irregular texture
  • The appearance of enlarged pores
  • Early signs of skin aging
  • Overall skin quality and luminosity
  • Collagen remodeling and long-term skin maintenance

Super MOXI can also be used on several areas of the body, including the face, neck, chest, hands, arms, back, and legs. Your treatment area and settings will depend on your skin and the concern being addressed.

Melasma requires special consideration. It is a complex, chronic condition, and laser treatment is not appropriate for every patient. Super MOXI targets water rather than selectively targeting melanin, which may make it useful for certain melasma-prone patients. A consultation is still necessary to determine whether it belongs in a broader melasma plan.

What Recovery Looks Like

Recovery depends on the protocol we select. A light Super MOXI treatment may involve little or no meaningful downtime. More intensive treatments can cause temporary redness, warmth, swelling, and a rough or sandpaper-like texture as the skin renews.

Visible recovery can range from none to approximately 7 to 10 days. We will discuss the expected recovery before treatment and plan around your schedule, upcoming events, and priorities.

Why Our Experience With MOXI Matters

Kairos founder Taylor Siemens, NP-C, has worked with Super MOXI as part of its research and development process. Her work has included collecting clinical data, contributing to protocols, and providing input on the software and treatment experience. This involvement gave our team meaningful experience with the platform before its broader release.

Kairos is the first practice in Texas to offer Super MOXI, and our team has already worked with the technology longer than any other practice in the state. Taylor's experience with MOXI began years earlier. Four years ago, she led one of the first teams to adopt the original MOXI platform. Since then, it has become an important part of how we treat pigmentation, skin quality, and early signs of aging.

Super MOXI is a new platform, but our understanding of the wavelength, treatment response, and patient recovery comes from years of hands-on experience.

A Team Approach to Laser Care

Our laser team includes Taylor Siemens, NP-C, Founder and Lead Nurse Practitioner; Brittaneey Bates, Aesthetician and Certified Laser Technician; and Sydney Riley, Aesthetician.

Each clinician brings a different background and perspective to treatment planning. We regularly review laser cases together, discuss treatment endpoints, evaluate patient response, and adjust plans when needed. The whole laser team contributes to your care, even when one clinician performs the treatment.

Measuring More Than What We Can See

Kairos has invested in advanced skin analysis tools that collect objective information about skin quality and track changes over time. These measurements can help us decide what your skin needs, choose an appropriate treatment, adjust intensity, and determine whether another technology should be added.

Before and after photography remains an important part of the process. We also want to understand what changed beneath the surface, including factors related to collagen and other aspects of skin health. Our goal is to combine what we see, what you experience, and what we can measure.

Is Super MOXI Right for You

A consultation is the best place to start. Super MOXI gives us more options, but it is only one tool within a complete treatment plan. Pigmentation may respond better to BBL® HEROic™. Another resurfacing treatment may be a better match for your main concern. Some patients benefit most from a combination plan.

During your consultation, we will evaluate your skin, review your goals, discuss your medical and treatment history, consider how much recovery and investment feel realistic, and use objective skin data when appropriate. We will then recommend the treatment plan that makes the most sense for you.

Our goal is to understand your skin well enough to recommend the right treatment, whether that treatment includes Super MOXI or something else.

Book Your Skin Consultation

Individual results, treatment recommendations, and recovery times vary. Your Kairos provider will determine candidacy and recommend treatment parameters based on your skin, medical history, goals, and clinical assessment.
